About LACC
Latin America Cargo City is the multimodal logistics platform of Carrasco International Airport, Latin America’s only Free Airport.
From this distinctive position, LACC connects world-class infrastructure, technology, traceability, tax benefits, and integrated solutions to drive the distribution, conditioning, and management of goods in Uruguay and across the region.

Our story
LACC was created with a clear vision: to develop, from Carrasco International Airport, a multimodal logistics platform capable of connecting Uruguay with the region and the world. Since its beginnings, the project has evolved through sustained investments in infrastructure, technology, and specialized services, incorporating new capabilities to support the needs of foreign trade and companies seeking to operate with efficiency, security, and traceability.
Throughout its development, LACC has strengthened its value proposition with distinctive capabilities: the Free Airport regime, the development of the Pharma hub, technology applied to import and export management, international certifications, and value-added services. The launch of the Latin America Cargo City brand in 2022 marked a new stage in this journey, positioning LACC as a regional logistics hub with integrated solutions for the distribution, conditioning, and management of goods across Latin America.

Why Uruguay?

Uruguay, a strategic platform for the region
Uruguay has established itself as a regional logistics hub thanks to its strategic location, economic and political stability, and modern regulatory framework, which supports the development of regional distribution operations.

Strategic location
Located on the Atlantic coast of South America, between Argentina and Brazil, Uruguay holds a privileged position within Mercosur and the Southern Cone. This location provides efficient access to the region’s main markets through air, sea, and land transportation.

Access to the region’s main markets
From Uruguay, companies can access a market of more than 250 million people within Mercosur. A population of nearly 140 million people is concentrated within a two-hour flight radius. This proximity makes the country a natural platform for centralizing inventories, optimizing delivery times, and managing regional distribution operations.

An attractive legal and tax framework
Uruguay offers special regimes designed to facilitate international trade and improve supply chain efficiency, including the Free Airport regime. These tools enable logistics operations to be carried out with flexibility, legal certainty, and distinctive tax and customs benefits.
The benefits of operating in a Free Zone with unique tax advantages in Latin America

The Free Airport regime allows goods to enter, remain, and be handled within the airport premises without being cleared for import, provided they retain their international transit status.
This gives companies greater flexibility to centralize inventories and carry out value-added activities, such as storage, splitting, labeling, conditioning, consolidation, and order preparation, before determining the goods’ final destination.
At LACC, these benefits are combined with specialized infrastructure, traceability, security, and air, sea, and land connectivity, providing an efficient platform for managing regional and global distribution operations.
